Playtime - Matlock Farm Park

Please note: as of 05/01/2021, MATLOCK FARM PARK IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED.

We're good to go visit England

See what visitors have been saying on Tripadvisor since our re-opening:

‘A very much needed, more ‘normal’ family day out- thank you again Matlock Farm Park’

‘There was a one-way system in place which was very clear and very well thought out’

‘The staff are so friendly, the animals are very cared for and we loved feeding them!’

‘I loved the amount of hand sanitisers there were around the park…. Everywhere seemed very clean’

In order to adhere to government guidelines and ensure safety is optimum, we have needed to amend many of the operations in place, whilst still providing an enjoyable experience for all.

Visits are currently restricted to a maximum of 6 people per group from one household bubble. Visitors must not meet with other household bubbles within the farm park. Upon arrival, it is mandatory to provide ‘sign in’ contact details, either by scanning the QR bar code on display or by completing our manual test & trace contact details sheet.

Due to current Tier 4 restrictions, the following indoor areas are closed:

  • Rainforest indoor play centre
  • Garden Room Cafe
  • Small Animal Barn
  • The Ark building

We have food and beverage takeaway outlets open, serving a range of delicious  hot & cold food, snacks and drinks. Our outdoor play areas, including sandpit, go-karts (£1.00) and pedal tractors are available to use.

Customers must wear a face mask /covering in the toilets. Customers with certain disabilities and children under 11 years are exempt. We advise visitors to wear face masks/coverings around all areas of the farm park when possible.

We have a one-way system covering most of the farm park, thorough signage and PPE in place and  restricted visitor numbers in all buildings. We have set this up to promote social distancing– it is straightforward to follow and these simple measures help everyone to relax.

Our cleaning regime has stepped up to include more frequent cleaning of toilets and touch points around the farm park. There is an increased number of hand-sanitisers available and we recommend regular hand-washing for at least 20 seconds at our stations.

Visitors are able to wander the farm park, pet and feed our lovely animals. At present we are not running the usual crowd-gathering, timed activities at the farm park, such as ferret racing and meerkat feeding. However we do have:

Small animal handling sessions per household. Please note, the sessions are subject to availability.

Short pony rides for the children at weekends and school holidays (£3.50 per go)

We are delighted that Horseriding lessons and treks are fully back up and running. These are very popular, but please call us to enquire for availability and we will book you in as soon as possible.

For Birthday Party enquiries and bookings, and for any Group Visits in 2021, please email to discuss your needs and the possibility of booking. Please note, we are responding accordingly to evolving government guidance in these areas.

Offers such as Parent & Toddler Deal and our Senior Citizen Meal Deal continue to run on weekdays during term time.

We THANK YOU so much for your continued support, especially during these tough winter months.
