Breakfast with Santa

Have Breakfast in style in our cafe as Santa Claus joins you at your table to get you into the festive mood! He'll have a lovely chat with you during breakfast and is sure to know all about his special diners! Santa will provide a special early Christmas present to children dining and of course he'd love to have photos taken.
At the end of Breakfast, it's time to sit with Mrs Claus in her parlour as she reads a very special Christmas Story. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the farm park's facilities.

Autism Friendly Santa Sessions

Come to see Santa for a special, more relaxed experience and at a pace suited to your loved one. Book a specific time slot to avoid crowded areas & noise and meet with our friendly staff member first to discuss how we can provide the most memorable experience. All children are welcome at our regular Matlock Farm Park Christmas experience, however these sessions will be lively and busier and include other Christmas encounters and activities. The Autism Friendly Santa Sessions are designed for loved ones who require a calmer, shorter experience.

Festive Village Santa Experience

2023 will see an exciting and fuller Christmas experience for our visitors with encounters and activities with different characters around the Christmas village, including:
Christmas craft making with Chief Elf and Mrs Claus, with special goodies to take home
A magical story telling experience for children with letter writing, so children can post their Christmas letters in the north pole post box.
Mulled wine and hot chocolate
Meeting the cheeky elves at the naughty-or-nice o'meter to see if your on Santa's 'Good List'!
Seeing the Big Man in Red, Santa Claus in his beautiful, cosy grotto so you can tell him all of your Christmas wishes. Children receive a special gift too as an early Christmas present!

We are also open for general farm park entry on all dates that our Christmas events run, offering lots of animal and playtime fun, plus:

Festive pony rides*
Christmas treasure trails
Elf fun around the park
Crafts in our barn
Carol singing (December dates)

Halloween

(October half term fun Saturday 21st
October-Sunday 5th November)

Get involved in some spooky goings on at Matlock Farm Park!

Come and walk along our spooky trail in our woodland and see some familiar Halloween characters at different prop sets - don't worry - it's fun, not scary! From Wednesday 25th-Tuesday 31st October, we'll have friendly characters too to interact with in the woodland and around the park, even providing some broomstick flying workshops! We'll have friendly live characters too to interact with in the woodland and around the park.
Of course, there'll be our Pumpkin Patch which you can buy a token for and children with their grown-ups can grab a wheelbarrow to explore the patch and pick their favourite pumpkin - carve it here at our carving stations or take it home with you!
Witch Wendolyn will be running her craft workshops every day for little ones to make lovely keepsakes and if you keep your eyes peeled, you may even be lucky enough to catch sight of the Headless Horseman late afternoon, just as the light fades…

Easter

Spring is in the air and it's such a special time at Matlock Farm Park. Nearby farms donate their cade lambs which need lots of dedicated care, in the form of bottle feeding and some gentle nurturing.

Visitors can learn about these lambs at our cade lamb sessions, watch them being fed and get involved in gentle petting - lovely photo opportunities. Children can also follow an Easter Treasure Trail every day of the Easter school holidays.
Of course, Easter wouldn't be Easter without the very jolly Easter Bunny who makes an appearance morning and afternoon from Good Friday to Easter Monday to help with our famous Easter Egg Hunt, with sweet treats available for children involved. Over this weekend, there's also our Find the Golden Egg feature at the park, with a super prize to be won. There's all the usual fun of the farm park with sheep racing, small animal handling, wallaby encounters, meerkat feeds, ferret racing and more!
